This medium length fifteen page (Browne Ms. F.21 pp. 44-60) `Commentary upon the letter wāw (و) in the wa'l-Ṣāffāt' the.opening phrase of the first verse of the Sūrat al-Ṣāffāt. The first words wa'l-Ṣāffāt may be loosely translated  "By those arrayed in rows!" (Qur'ān, 37:1a).  This text dates to the time of the Bab's imprisonment in Persian Adhirbayjan in 1847-9. In this work the Bab mentions al-jabal al-shadīd ("the Severe Mountain") which is one of the ways he referred to Mākū, the place of his imprisonment in Persian Ādhirbāyjān in 1848-9.
